Is it time for the blute of ages?
Will there be new player instruments
During the LOTRO 10th anniversary stream April 25, there was a brief segment about the player music system, and whether there would be any further work done on that. Zedrock sent me the Twitch video recording where this is discussed (primarily involving DarthCeltics and Tybur at around 21:45 into the video). They talk about the last change to the music system (Update 15), and how they reinstated the Lute of Ages due to player feedback.
One clip that might breed some excitement (or anxiety, depending on past experiences) is this exchange. Paraphrased from the video:
DarthCeltics: "And I will say, without getting anyone's hopes up (which I know is tough to do, but...). When we have time, which is probably sometime towards the end of this year, once Mordor is out the door and everything, my plan is to hopefully record a few new instruments.
Tybur: "We have been talking about another new instrument for about a year and a half, just to be fair."
Then they talk about the requirements for new animations, new instruments, finding a studio and people to record, budget and time that they don't have right now. But there are certain things players have been asking for for years, that they'd love to give to them.
Which instruments would you like to see?
So: No promises are made, but this seems to be something they would like to see happen.
Are there instruments in particular you would like see added to LOTRO? Players have been asking for a fiddle for years, so I bet that is high on their list, should they come around to making this happen. Although, animations might be tricky there.
But what else? Add yer thoughts below!
