The Chicken Flying Song

Chucks dream of flying too. Yer just know it to be true, right? So here is a song about flying chucks!

About the song

Best sung to Paul McCartney's "My Brave Face", this was crash-written before the Brandy Badgers' Public Rehearsal on June 29th 2015. The song more or less wrote itself when I got started. Perhaps because I may have been just so slightly inspired by the movie "Chicken Run" when I jotted down them words. Well, I am sure it doesn't show...

More of me songs in the songbook! Enjoy!

Lyrics: The Chicken Flying Song

Up there up there in the sky

I look up to the sky Birds above me soaring high How I wish it was me All unfettered and free And I will never fall down

Then I look at my wings Such a pair of useless things They won't carry me high How I wish I could fly Through the sky and I will never fall down

Let us hatch a cunning plan The age of airborne chucks at hand We'll be the pride of poultry if we fly Henhood's finest minds at work Imagination goes berserk As we ... aim sky high

Nothing ever stops a chuck We'll rise up high above the muck The drawing board shows how it's done And before the night we'll be gone

Soaring through the bright blue sky Soaring through the bright blue sky Up there up there in the sky

In the sky

Gather all that we need Lots of worms and chicken feed Nails and hammers and oak planks Bring a rusty crank Linen cloth and we are ready to begin

Push the coop up on the roof For it is time to bring the proof That no minds are as fine as those of chucks This old coop will surely fly Yer do not have to wonder why When we soar high... yer hear our clucks

Leave this dusty farm behind The chicken stars are now aligned The drawing board shows how it's done And before the night we'll be gone

Soaring through the bright blue sky Soaring through the bright blue sky Up there up there in the sky

In the sky

My Brave Face
