The Brandy Badgers visited Winterstock again today, Sunday January 18. It was a grand time as usual. Old and new friends, lovely music, and the music community in LOTRO was at its usual friendly best.
About the song
Us Badgers played a set of mostly old songs, but we snuck in a couple of new too. Besides having a silly biscuit-craving hobbit trying to fly during the "Top Gun Anthem" (coughs), I wrote a song to "Any Dream Will Do", from the musical "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Once again, a story of hobbits running into the dark forest at night, drawn by music... Words below!
Also, here's the full setlist from today!
And a silly hobbit trying to fly... Drawing by Pennyroyal.
We know what to do
It’s late at night,
I hear the calling
No time for stalling,
I will be true
I walk outside,
no sign of dawning
Bleary-eyed and yawning,
I know what to do
Between the trees,
I hear the rustling
The woods are bustling,
in the morning dew
My kith and kin,
my friend and neighbor
Gentlefolk and labour,
we know what to do
A hidden glade,
beside the trail
A berry bush,
a keg of ale
Merry music gentle chorus
Join the song tonight
The dark gives way,
to furry ruffling
With sighs and snuffling,
black and white their hue
And through the night,
a song so pleasant
Feels like a present,
we know what to do
All hand in hand,
we join the chorus
This night is for us,
for both me and you
No sign of strife,
no-one will quarrel
And thus the moral,
we know what to do
A hidden glade,
beside the trail
A berry bush,
a keg of ale
Merry music gentle chorus
Join the song tonight
All hand in hand,
we join the chorus
This night is for us,
for both me and you
No sign of strife,
no-one will quarrel
And thus the moral,
we know what to do
We know what to do
Any Dream Will Do
And here's the original song
