Good things come to those who wait!
Nimelia has updated The Badger Chapter version of the Songbook plugin with lots of added functionality and bug fixes!
The new version adds a many neat new functions for band leaders, while also making the playing experience easier for band members and individual users.
New things in update 0.98a include:
Support for band leaders:
- Automatic assignment of song parts to band members, according to their skills and preferences stored in the plugin. Assignments can be announced directly in chats
- Players keep their last assigned instruments into the next assignment, if possible
- Options to include/exclude individual members from next assignment or specific parts
Interface improvements:
- When a song is selected, instruments that are identified in track names can be accessed via a dropdown list for easy instrument change (no more frantic fiddle search…)
- Cleaner top button bar, with less buttons shown by default. Includes better visual and placement of Start-Sync button, to decrease likelihood of accidental use by band members
- Song timer is more prominent and flashes for the last ten seconds of the song
- When wrong instrument is readied, the required instrument text is more prominent and flashes for several seconds
- Reload of Songbook library possible from within the Songbook plugin

Where to get the plugin?
You can get the 0.98a version on the Songbook page. There, you can also ask questions, report bugs and get help in setting it up properly.
Note that the plugin is currently only for the English language client, until more French and German translation work is done. Also, the plugin has not yet been tested with Update 38 – Corsairs of Umbar. Future planned improvements are listed on the Songbook page linked above.
