Biscuits fer yule: A hobbity yule song

Biscuits are better in time fer yule.

Over on the Grand Order forums, Pycella has worked hard to create a hobbity yule calendar, with plenty of surprises coming in them days before yule: Recipes, drawings, videos, music, etc.

I figured I'd send in one of me old yule songs there, since I found out that I had never made the song lyrics public before. However, since I am somewhat fond of the song, I also thought I could try turn it into a video. Not least since I wanted to field-test my editing program after a major update, before we start work on the 2017 hobbit yule video.

So, I had some spare time the other day and came up with the video below. Given that the song is from my childhood days up in Brockenborings, I was ably helped by Tibba playing the role as me scary ma. Hope yer enjoy it!

Biscuits fer yule - Lyrics

(best sung to the tune of The First Noel)

On a night long ago, it was raining outside I was hungry and went to the larder to pry There were biscuits up there, so I started to climb But me ma yelled before I could finish me crime So I fell off the stool, and I felt like a fool Let us all hope fer better in time fer yule

So me ma bought a lock, quite a sturdy old latch And she smiled as she thought I had now met me match But it wasn't to be, she stopped dead in her tracks When she saw me set course fer the door with an axe So I lost the old tool, and I felt like a fool Let us all hope fer better in time fer yule

On a night long ago, it was snowing outside I was hungry and went to the larder to pry On a plate near the floor, many biscuits for me And a note from me ma said: "Have these with yer tea" Though the weather is cruel, me ma's a jewel There is nothing like biscuits in time fer yule
