The Shire summer brings rainy days sometimes. Which is grand, because there is usually a rainbow waiting for us when the sun comes back. And here is a song about it!
Best sung to the tune of Carrigdonn, a traditional Irish folk song which is used in such classic songs as Mountains of Mourne and Bendemeer's Stream. Below yer can hear Don McLean's version of Mountains of Mourne, which is a grand and fine song indeed.

Me own version is based on a midi with a slightly different rhythm to the melody line than McLean's version. It was first performed during Green Dragon Friday on May 10th 2013.
The rainbows in LOTRO are always a favourite sight, and the local hobbits on Laurelin always discuss what can be found at the end of one. Of course, I just know there has ter be biscuits there. Not that I have found any yet, but... surely I can hope still?
Grand Rainbow Song
I wake ter the sound of the summertime rain The sky looking grey with the downpour again But as morning is filled with a breakfast or three I can soon see the sun as she smiles down to me I run through the fields and I soon see the sign All the colours of summer as raindrops resign And it makes me forget all the trouble and strife At the end of the rainbow me dreams come to life
Do yer hope fer a cauldron with jewels and gold? Or the finest of flowers whose petals unfold Yer may hope fer some berries with lashings of cream A grand fishing spot by yer favourite stream And meself I will look fer me favourite treat Many jarfuls of biscuits both crunchy and sweet And it makes me forget all the trouble and strife At the end of the rainbow me dreams come to life
Come sing a song of rainbows Come sing a song of rainbows
So I run ter the place where the colours converge But nature starts playing its evening dirge The rainbow is waving goodbye to the light The colours are fading as day turns to night But there up ahead is a marvellous sight A hamper of food and a fireplace bright All me friends greet me merry and biscuits are rife At the end of the rainbow me dreams come to life
