Grand Pie Song

Me songbook is complete! Well, not really, but I always lacked a pie song. So I had ter write one!

Best sung to the tune of Maiden of Bashful Fifteen, this was an experiment ter see if it was possible ter write a tune in 30 minutes (which was about the time I had available before the inn night at the Floating Log earlier today). I made it - barely... And now I need a biscuit!

The Grand Pie Song

Here's to the favourite food that we love Here's to what makes us all merry Surely yer know what I am singing of Me favourites are mushroom and cherry

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why Mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why

Make it with berries or Southfarthing fruit Make it with apples or brisket Play it a merry old tune on yer lute And bake it while eating a biscuit

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why Mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why

Here's to a meal that all hobbits will prize Golden-baked crust that is wavy Serve on a platter and heed me advice And bring out them spoonfuls of gravy

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why

Give me a pie Give me a pie Of mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why Mushroom or cherry, and don't ask me why
