Ponies aplenty in the Shire the last few days! Hobbits outsmart them longshanks again! Read some about it and see lots of pictures here!
Both us Mathoms and them People of the Shire arranged events for the Galloping Gala this weekend. Yer certainly need hobbits ter pull off exciting things! Hooray!

Ahem. Now, where were we...
The Grand Greenfields Gallop
Held on Sunday, the Grand Greenfields Gallop was a hobbity spring party on the Greenfields, with music and merriment aplenty. The main event was the horse and pony race, a dramatic knockout race around the Bullroarer party field outside of Brockenborings. The race had everything; Excitement, drama, people stumbling in badger holes and one very happy winner.
After the final, master Perseid (a hobbit, of course!) rode home on a brand-new Perlino mount! In addition, many of them peoples present won prizes fer their fabulous outfits.
I think I can write a book about all the work we put into planning fer the Gallop. We basically had less than two weeks ter pull off something quite ambitious. Many more people showed up than we expected too, and I wish we could have put even more people into the race proper. Still, then we'd have had ter go on all night. All in all, it was grand fun fer us organizers, and it seemed them participants loved it too!
Yer can read impressions from the Gallop, as well as see some pictures, over on:

The Shire Riddle Run Part 2
Arranged last night by miss Carme and our good friends in People of the Shire, the Riddle Run gathered lots of participants too, hobbits as well as longshanks. This was an exciting event where yer had to solve riddles to find places within the Shire, pick up items and rush back ter the goal as fast as hobbitly possible. It was a lot of fun!
I was part of the team The Blue Feathers with them lovely lads Jerremiah and Tassler. They insisted that we all needed ter wear thinking caps ter help our riddle-solving. It seemed ter help, because we ran off and won the whole thing! (we're hobbits, of course!)
In the end, the biggest riddle was how ter split a Perlino pony three ways. Luckily I had one of me own from before. Master Jerremiah got the pony after a surprise extra riddle. Then, wonder of wonders, our good dwarven friend Givurix came wandering over with a spare pony, so master Tassler could have one too! That was mighty sporting indeed!
Yer can see some pictures from the event over on the Eldariant forums.
Else, here are a few quick pictures of me own!

Thanks and things!
So, after the weekend, I guess a few thanks are in order!
To the Grand Order hobbits, who wholeheartedly supported the crazy Gallop idea and helped plan and run the event. Hooray fer some grand teamwork!
To the People of the Shire hobbits, for a grand riddle run and much good fun both days. Hooray!
To the participants in the events, for coming along and making them such grand fun! Besides one or two excitable longshanks on Monday, yer were all lovely and well-behaved!
To Turbine for offering prizes and PR support, and not least Celestrata for staying in touch with us along the way. This was much appreciated. Both events gathered somewhere between 40-60 participants each, even with some visitors from other servers. So rest assured: These kinds of events are quite popular!
