Great Smials Library
Spring marches on and soon we celebrate the May Queen and King! Thank you to those who dared the back woods and attended the Fed Poets’ Spring Out Trip and for all the fine contributions.
This month we will meet at the Great Smials library for a quick tour and then venture forth on a ride to Little Delving. There we will share our poems and poetry finds while the weather is fine. If the weather is not fine, we will stop at the Bird and Baby Inn to keep out of the rain.
This month’s suggested theme is : Royalty/flowers
The form we will try to employ is: the limerick.
If the limerick does not inspire, feel free to use whatever form you like.
Limerick: a light or humorous verse form of five lines in which lines 1, 2, and 5 rhyme with one another, as do Lines 3 and 4.
A flee and a fly in a flue
Were trapped, so what could they do?
Said the flee; “Let us fly!”
Said the fly; “Let us flee!”
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.
If you would like to try your hand at writing, or if you have a favourite poem to share, or you would just like to sit back and listen, join the Fed Poets’ Society Meeting THURSDAY, May 11 at 7:30pm (UK Time). Share a hearty bite to eat and a feast of words!
See you there!
