Note that we absolutely love solo bards/performers – a lone lute-player is often better suited for the inn setting than a huge band. Also note that we absolutely love other kinds of entertainment than music: Poems, stories, riddles, the latest news from the Shire… lovely! If you want to play music, it is grand if yer aim for a folksy hobbity vibe, with reels, jigs, waltzes, hornpipes and the likes.
- Gossip and news is very welcome! This helps bring life to the event and the roleplaying in the Shire. Just remember to keep things in-character. Related to events: We generally don’t advertise events held on other servers, events not of hobbit interest, events not held in the Shire or events not of a roleplaying character.
- The inn can sometimes be busy, especially near the entertainment fireplace. It is good if you keep this in mind when interacting with others, go into crowds to talk to someone, etc. Some examples: If someone is reciting a stirring poem from the battle of Greenfields, it is probably good to wait a bit to run up and say hello to them. If someone is regaling the crowd with an exciting tale, it can undermine the mood if you move two feet away from them and talk about things not related to the tale at all. If you’re doing a deep discussion with just one other person there, it could make sense to move away from the busiest part of the inn, for instance to the bar or another corner. This is mostly a matter of acknowledging what is going on at the inn and making an attempt of not undermining the roleplaying efforts of others.

The Bi-weekly stroll through the Shire!
This time we will gather on sunday the 20th of June, 7.30 o’clock at the Bullroarer statue in Brockenborings.
We will stroll through the Greenfields until we reach the lovely town of Oatbarton were we’ll take a small tour.

The Brandy Badgers are Tuckborough bound!

The Brandy Badgers never really play concerts, but them’s pretty good at having public rehearsals. And they’re just burning in with songs they didn’t manage to put into the Greenfields musical earlier this spring. So expect a lot of songs yer haven’t heard the Badgers play before. And the odd surprise! And certainly a few old Badgers favourites!
Come to dance, have fun and make some Took heads spin! Them certainly never had Badgers play in their village before!

This will be a public rehearsal with all the Pet Shop Boys songs we didn’t find room for in the Greenfields musical last month. We’ll likely play a few other songs as well.

Many hobbits have sneakily bought houses in far-away Rohan. It is time to go on a visit!

How about a relaxing morning fishing? An exciting afternoon pony-racing? A scary evening dodging snow-baths? Snooping through grand houses and yards, then having a party at a huge mead hall? That sound proper hobbity, right? Right! Even though we’ll do it in a faraway land…
So, we’d like to invite everyhobbit along for a visit to the Deorend homesteads down Rohan way. Join us in Bree, and we’ll point yer in the right direction to the party. Bring yer fishing poles and be prepared for fun and feasting! Welcome!

How to get to Deorend, yer might ask? Simple! Visit the Broker’s office in Bree, use the visitors’ ledger there, and yer will be able to visit the homestead. There should be no level requirements getting there, and the homesteads area is safe for everyone. Also, we’ll start out from the West Gate in Bree and walk towards the Broker’s house, so join us there at the start of the event if you don’t know where it is.
There will be some competitions (fishing, pony racing or similar) during the event, but mostly for fun and laughs.
