This is a calendar of hobbit events on the LOTRO Laurelin server, typically events in the Shire and hosted by hobbits. If you have events you want added to the calendar, send me a letter!
All times in the calendar are given in current London/UK time. The LOTRO servertime (Boston/US East Coast time) is usually 5 hours behind London time. To see the servertime while in-game, just type /servertime. If you are unsure what London time is in your current time zone, you can use this time zone converter.
Current times are:
- Servertime
- London Time
Colour categories:
- Blue: General announcements of special interest dates (hobbit months, festival periods etc.)
- Green: Public events, open for all hobbits
- Red: Kin events for hobbits in the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom
The LOTRO Ill Omens skirmish event returns!
Event start: February 19 at 10AM servertime. Event end: March 19 at 3AM servertime.
More information in Dadi’s guide.
The US and the EU moves to Daylight Saving Time (DST) at different dates.
- The US moves the clocks forward one hour on the morning (2AM) of the second Sunday in March. In 2020, this is March 8th
- The EU moves the clocks forward one hour on the morning (1AM) of the last Sunday in March. In 2016, this is March 29th
In this period, the time difference between the EU and the US is one hour LESS than it usually is. One example: While the difference between UK/London time and servertime (US/Boston time) is usually 5 hours, it will only be 4 hours until the EU clocks move. This has a lot of impact on event planning in LOTRO, so make sure you know which times you use.
Here is more information on DST and event planning in LOTRO.

The annual Pie Day is almost here! So let’s get prepared for it!
Date: Friday 13rd March
Time: 7:30PM ((UK, 3:30 servertime))
Location: The Green Dragon Inn, Bywater, the Shire
On March 14th, there is a great day to celebrate, at least for us hobbits: the annual Pie Day! Well, everyday is pie day in the life of a hobbit, but the pies certainly deserve a special day in our calendars. To get you all wel prepared for the actual Pie Day, we will have an early pie day celebration on the at the Green Dragon on Friday 13rd March. It will be like a regular Friday at the Dragon, but with a pie theme. And yes, that means we will have pies there as well! You will have the chance to get the fancy Pie Maven title, if you don’t have it already, and yer belly size permits it. If you have some pie-related entertainment to offer, such as poetry, songs or tales, please let the hostess, Miss Pycella know. You can also share your favourite pie recipe (or the pie itself)!
Welcome to have a pleasant evening with friends and comforting food!
OOC: This is a special Green Dragon Friday, a role-playing event for hobbits and travelling dwarves. You can find more information about the weekly event here.
It is pi(e) day, where we celebrate the best way ter measure how large a pie is!
Remember, the circumference of a pie divided by its diameter = pie! Er… just eat it already…
Date: Sunday March 15
Time: 6:30PM UK time (2:30PM servertime due to the US being on Daylight Saving Time)
Location: Prancing Pony Stage, Bree, Landroval server

Yearly Bullroarer Took celebration day!
More about the Bullroarer at Tolkien Gateway
Aye, it is time to get out the green garments again, for on Tuesday March 17 we will have a celebration of the grand deeds of the biggest (and tallest) Hobbit hero ever to walk the Shire. Tradition dictates that we wear green clothes that day, that we try to walk on top of fences, that we listen to appropriate ((Celtic)) music and that we raise our glass to Bullroarer Took! And what better place to do that, than in Brockenborings at the foot of the statue of Bullroarer himself.
The deeds of Bullroarer Took are the subject of many a poem and song and we hope to hear quite a few of them! Poets and musicians are all invited to climb the fence that serves as a stage that night and praise the Hobbit Hero in song and story (or poem). To make this all go smoothly, please announce your intentions to perform in a letter to editors@brambleburygazette.com and I’ll reserve a spot for you in the program of the evening.
One band has already agreed to play. They are the “Greenbrambles”, who have delighted the audience with their music for many years now. In fact they exist only one day each year and then return to anonymity in “the Band from Bramblebury that has not come up with a name yet”.
So to recapitulate:
What: annual Bullroarer Took celebration
Where: Near the statue of Bullroarer Took in Brockenborings
When: March 17, 19:30 ((UK, 3:30 servertime))
Dresscode: Any shade of green.
NB. Be aware of salesmen who try to sell you the “authentic Bullroarer Took club” or the “actual skull of Golfimbul”. These are beyond any doubt fakes!! Any included “Proof of authenticity by the Mathom House” are not worth the paper they are printed on! Please report any of these imposters to the Bounders.
The spring festival is on again! Brave the Bree-lands maze!
Festival dates! Start: March 19th @10AM. End: April 14th @3AM. All times servertime.
