A visit to Tholpa’s summer cottage @ Stock
Aug 24 @ 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

The summer is nearing its end, so it’s time for a last summer cottage trip! This time, we will visit Tholpa’s summer cottage in Breeland!

Date: 24th and 25th August
Time: 7:30 PM on both days ((UK, 2:30 PM server time))
Location: On 24th: Golden Perch yard, Stock, the Shire; on 25th: in front of the Breeland homesteads ((Laurelin server))

Miss Tholpa has invited us for a refreshing weekend at her summer cottage in Breeland. There, we will eat lots of sausages, sip refreshing drinks, and visit the “hot bath room” Miss Tholpa has put up. During the weekend, we will also shortly visit Staddle and the festival grounds where we will play a game of tag or two!

The trip takes two days: Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August. Here is the schedule:

Saturday 24th August

  • Meeting up at the Golden Perch yard in Stock at seven and half bells, starting the walk towards the cottage after a few drinks

  • At the cottage: taking a look at Tholpa’s cottage, roasting sausages, visiting the hot bath room, maybe a bathing lecture. Cottage address: 2 Chestnut Street, Bramberth, Breeland homesteads.

Sunday 25th August

  • Meeting up in front of the Breeland Homesteads at seven and half bells, starting the walk towards Staddle

  • At Staddle: a tour through the village, maybe a picnic or something similar; continuing to the festival grounds

  • At the festival grounds: a game of tag at the festival ground ruins

Welcome to join a relaxed summer cottage visit with food, lazy walking, good company and fun games. A good chance to say hullo to your Staddle relatives!

((This is a roleplaying event for hobbits and maybe some travelling dwarves. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Tholpa or Almi.))

Floating Log Friday @ Frogmorton
Aug 30 @ 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Ol’ Flourdumpling is busy stuffing his face over in Bywater during the Farmer’s Faire, and there are lots of visitors there stepping on the local hobbits. So naturally, the weekly hobbit inn night will move from the Green Dragon! To The Floating Log!

Date: Friday August 30
Time: 7:30PM UK time (2:30PM servertime)
Location: Floating Log Inn, Frogmorton

Have no fear, master Ponto Hopsbloom is more than happy to welcome hobbits to the Floating Log in Frogmorton. He’ll greet yer all warmly, although hopefully not with warm ale, and better not with the most “hoppy” of the local ales…

Usual Green Dragon Guidelines apply, which means this is an event by and for hobbits. The odd visiting dwarf is always welcome, though! Should yer have any entertainment (songs, stories, riddles, poems or the likes), please bring it along!

Bards Day 2019 @ Hobbiton
Sep 2 @ 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

A day to remember the bards of old and the music they inspired.
Not least that grand feller Ronald Dwale.
Welcome to the annual Bards Day in the Ivy Bush Inn!

Date: Monday September 2
Time: 7:30PM UK (2:30PM servertime)
Location: Ivy Bush inn, Hobbiton, The Shire

A day to remember the writers of the tales, poems and songs we treasure today. A selection of tunes related to one of the finest writers we have seen, master Ronald Dwale.

The Brandy Badgers will perform a selection of songs and poems based on the works of master Dwale. Afterwards, the stage will be open for other bards who would like to share suitable works for the occasion.

All are welcome to come to attend the Bards Day: hobbits, dwarves, elves and men.

OOC details:

J.R.R. Tolkien passed away September 2nd 1973. On this date, every year since 2012, we have paid homage to him with an evening of music and poetry in the Ivy Bush, playing tunes inspired by Tolkien’s works (from the movies or adapted from his writings and poems) and reciting some of Tolkien’s poems. The main part of the concert is performed by The Brandy Badgers, the in-house music collective in the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom.

Given the event theme and the date, this is not a strict roleplaying event, so players of all sizes and shapes are welcome. However, we will stay in-character: Instead of speaking about Tolkien, the musicians will play songs inspired by Ronald Dwale, Tolkien’s in-game alter ego.

Although there would be many lore reasons to have the concert in the Bird and Baby, the inn is somewhat unsuitable for music. So we have moved to the Ivy Bush instead.

The Badgers will perform for ca 90 minutes. Afterwards, the stage is open for anyone who would like to play a tune or recite a poem suitable for such an event.

Welcome to the Ivy Bush September 2nd!

Ivy Bush Friday @ Hobbiton
Sep 6 @ 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

The Farmer’s Faire is still on, which means there is murder (of foods) and mayhem in Bywater. Silly mayor! The Dragon will be a noisy place, so the weekly hobbit inn night will move from the Green Dragon! To the Ivy Bush!

Date: Friday September 6
Time: 7:30PM UK time (2:30PM servertime)
Location: Ivy Bush Inn, Hobbiton

Given that Bywater is pretty much uninhabitable during the Farmer’s Faire, we’ll move GDF to other venues when it is on. For September 6, Hereward Loamsdown at the Ivy Bush is happy to have us over. More customers than the local shirriff Robin Smallburrow is always welcome. So, expect friendly greetings and even friendlier prices!
