I won’t! You should! Pass me that biscuit jar!
About the song
Well, it is time for another biscuit song. ‘s been far too long since the last one, surely? Although, this is a slightly old one – I wrote it for Green Dragon Friday August 15th 2014. Still, biscuits don’t crumble or grow stale with age. Around here, they don’t last long enough to do so…
This one is best sung to “Pay me that money down”, ideally that lively and rousing version by master Bruce Springsteen (Bruco Springrock?). Have a listen to it below. After reading the lyrics, of course. Then yer can sing along!

Lyrics: Pass me that biscuit jar
I thought I heard me momma say
Pass me that biscuit jar
I grabbed it and I ran away
Pass me that biscuit jar
Chorus:
Pass me, pass me
Pass me that biscuit jar
Yer all just have to wait
Pass me that biscuit jar
My friends chased me down, they all wanted some
Pass me that biscuit jar
But all they saw was a trail of crumbs
Pass me that biscuit jar
Chorus
Out on the fields where badgers roam
Pass me that biscuit jar
That’s where the young biscuit thiefs feel home
Pass me that biscuit jar
Chorus
Well, they tracked me, far and wide
Pass me that biscuit jar
But always I would run and hide
Pass me that biscuit jar
Chorus
Well, empty jar, so I ran home
Pass me that biscuit jar
Where ma filled it up with fresh-baked ones
Pass me that biscuit jar
Chorus x 6
Pay me my money down
Here’s Bruce Springsteen’s version of the song. Well worth many listens. Enjoy! With a biscuit!
