Hobbits in the snow? Wearing boots? Surely! Here are some pictures from a recent visit to Forochel!
A few days ago I was visiting the northern lands of Forochel (or Frosty-shell, which is the name us Laurelin hobbits tend to use). The reason I went there was to make a suitable yule-ish drawing for the Laurelin hobbit yule video ((hint hint – send those screenshots to me before December 21st, hobbits)). However, I really love tumbling around in them snowy lands for other reasons too. The views are spectacular, the night skies are grand, and any excuse to wear even more yellow clothes than usual is surely a worthy one? That’s right, it is. So I took the opportunity to make a few extra drawings, which yer can see below. Enjoy!
Sûri-kylä as seen from the ice floes in the bay outside of the village. Much though I hate bathing, us sturdy hobbits are quite capable of swimming around there. Hobbit metabolism, I suppose. I gained morale faster than the freezing waters sapped it from me. Just look out for the barrier of instant incapacitation…
While visiting, I really had to try the northern arts of ice skating. Found me a fine instructor and everything. Very helpful, he was.
Once I got the hang of it, I got adventurous and tried for a grand and gracious and spectacular jump that some furrin’ tall folks would likely call a triple lutz.
It didn’t really go that well…
It was about this time I started getting hungry (again), and this feller sped off just as I hailed him. Surely he’d have some biscuit in that strange contraption!
Sadly, he had no biscuits. Claimed the bears had got them, he did. So I went off exploring for them (and biscuits) elsewhere. Fine though the northern lights are, I love it when the sun rises too, so things looked much brighter!
You growlin’ at ME? I found the bears, and this sure looked like a prospective biscuit thief. Hand them over, yer rotter.
It was then I found out that ice bears don’t care much for biscuits, but rather prefer cold fish. Slimy fish. Smelly fish! Eek!
How about yer others, is Forochel a favourite zone too? Or are there other places yer would recommend I go visit instead? Please offer yer suggestions below! Especially if there are any places with lots of biscuits.
Forochel is definitely one of my favourite regions! I love the music, the looks and the foreign atmosphere it has.
It is a grand place. I always loved them landscapes and the snow, not to mention being caught in foggy snowstorms
Nicely written Lina :) And yes, Foro has always been one of my fav regions, dispite the snowstorms, dispite the distances… or maybe, because of? Dunno, just like being there.
Thank you! Second only to the Shire, Forochel is me favourite area in LOTRO. It is a grand place to get lost *smiles*
