The Biscuity Burrow is three years today! Happy happy joy joy!
So there it was, a bit more than three years ago, when I woke up one morning and wondered if I should start a blog or something.
Like most of me ideas, it wasn’t really a very well thought out thing. I mostly just wanted a place to store me song lyrics and write a little about biscuits. Oh, and perhaps learn a little about tinkering with WordPress and a web site? Not much to it, really.
Fast forward three years, and there are about 70 song lyrics here, lots of videos that has taken a loooong time making, a few poems, lots of screenshots. Stories of the Ruffest sheepdog ever. Oh, and an up-to-date calendar of all them hobbity events on Laurelin. Sometimes it feels like I spend more time burrowing around here than in the game! It is not exactly free either, with hosting costs and plugin costs and theme costs and backup costs and so on.
But oh, as long as it is fun doing it… I don’t mind the time spent here at all. And rest assured, I’ll never, ever, neverever put ads on the burrow. Nor ask for donations or any other silly monetary stuff. This burrow will be free, uncluttered and easily accessed by all and sundry for as long as it stays up. Besides the occasional long load times…
So, what does the future hold fer the burrow? Much the same, I suppose. I might tinker a bit with the general layout, but nothing dramatic (although those pictures in the front page slider should really be updated soon). I should look into removing a few plugins to speed up the site a bit, but the worst offender is really the calendar plugin anyways. I will likely write more guides and opinion posts on LOTRO, roleplaying, the music system and similar. More videos are in the planning. I have lots more song lyrics lying around. So, much the same, really.
So please come in, new visitors and old friends alike! It is grand to see yer here, and I hope yer have a good time during yer stay. Just beware of the biscuit crumbs!
Oh, and here is the first-ever burrow post too. Enjoy!
