An old song, but one that may just become rather timely soon! Here is the GOAT (Grand Order Acting Troupe) song!
Best sung to the tune of “Lumber Camp Song”, which yer can hear in a version by The Terra Novans a litte lower on the page.
GOAT is the small acting troupe in the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom. The song was written for the premiere of the GOAT’s third-ever play, “Of Love and Riches”, which premiered November 1st 2010. Oh, yer didn’t see it back then? Well, then yer should definitely keep Saturday November 9th this year free. Hint hint.
The Terra Novans – Lumber Camp SongActing Troupe song
Come all you merry hobbits and listen to my song
It’s all about the Acting Troupe and how they get along
We’re the jolliest band of actors that ever you could find
We fight and yell all day about who’ll get the better lines
We fight and yell all day about who’ll get the better lines
When we meet up for rehearsals, Patula scolds us all
“If you forgot your costumes, how can you play your role?”
The rest of us will jump around and stumble on our way
“Where is my dress? Where is my mask? My shirt is gone astray!”
“Where is my dress? Where is my mask? My shirt is gone astray!”
It’s nearing our performance, and nerves begin to fray
Simbo’s eaten just two pies and I shiver and sway
We fumble all our lines and we plain forget to sleep
As the curtain rises we just want to run and weep
As the curtain rises we just want to run and weep
Now our work is over, the end of the play is near
Bowing to the audience, we listen for a cheer
An actor’s life is hard, but it’s worth it all, my friend
If you go out and buy us ale and biscuits in the end
If you go out and buy us ale and biscuits in the end
