Green Dragon Friday has always been about arts, especially the performing kind. So naturally, we just need us an anniversary arts competition! And here’s how yer can enter!
This year, we will run an “open arts competition”. The theme for all entries has to be related to either The Green Dragon inn or Green Dragon Friday.
The competition accepts entries in the following formats:
- Short stories
- Song lyrics
- Original paintings or drawings (hand drawn or computer)
- Screenshots from the game (modifications are allowed)
A select few entries may be offered the chance of being presented or performed during the anniversary parties.
- Entries have to be in the English language
- All entries need to have a title, with a maximum of 20 words
- Short stories can be up to a maximum of 1000 words long (excluding the title)
- All paintings/drawings/screenshots have to be in .jpg format, with a minimum resolution of 1024×768, sent as email attachments (see address below)
- All works have to be your own creations
In addition to the theme and format restrictions outlined in the category descriptions, these are the rules for the competition.
Who can enter
The competition is open to players with hobbit characters on the Laurelin server. If you don’t have one yet, just roll up one before entering!
Please include the name of your hobbit character when sending in your entry. Should you have more than one hobbit character, just choose the one you want to enter with. Multiple entries from different alts are not allowed.
Each contestant can send up to three entries to the competition. Either (up to) three of each format, or using different formats.
How to enter
The Grand Green Dragon Arts Competition runs until Tuesday April 30th 11:59PM BST/UK time. Entries received later than this won’t be accepted.
Publication and copyright
By entering, you agree that your entries can be published on this website. Published entries will be credited to your hobbit character name. We reserve the right to not publish your entries.
All entries must be original and created and/or owned exclusively by the player submitting them.
Please also remember that LOTRO carries a Teen rating, so keep the content of your entries within the general content boundaries of that rating.
Winners and prizes
Winners will be announced during the main party on May 3rd. A jury will choose a selection of winners, each of which will receive fine prizes. The jury’s decisions are final and not open for discussion.
Good luck everyone!
