It is time to celebrate that grand hobbit hero again! And as the previous two years, there will be a concert in Brockenborings in his honour, performed by the Greenbrambles!
Date: Sunday March 17th
Time: 7:30PM GMT (3:30PM servertime, given the US daylight savings time)
Location: Bullroarer statue, Brockenborings, Laurelin server
What, the Bullroarer?
Indeed, one of them truly heroic hobbits. Bandobras “Bullroarer” Took led an army of hobbits ter meet invading goblins back during the battle of Greenfields, some 270 years back. Each year hobbits commemorate those fallen in that fierce battle against the goblins of Mount Gram. That battle was almost single-handedly decided by Bullroarer Took, when he beheaded the Goblin King Golfimbul, whose head landed in a rabbit hole. The battle was decided and a new game invented!
Yer can read more of the battle right here.
In the past, the Grand Order has gone on field trips to Greenfields ter look at the site of the battle. During those trips, there has been many songs and poems performed. Here is a list of some of them:
- Simbo’s 3-part poem about the Bullroarer
- Bullroarer Took song
- Follow me up to Greenfields
Oh, and a concert?
For the third year in a row, the Greenbrambles will perform in honour of the Bullroarer. No better place to do this than at the foot of his statue in Brockenborings. The music will consist of songs, jigs, reels and whatever they will come up with.
Visitors are asked to heed to the tradition of “wearing of the green”. Please, come dressed in your finest green outfit.
The Program of the evening will be as follows (all times is UK/GMT):
- 7.30pm Opening act Miss Sevelda Quickkettle will entertain the arriving spectators.
- 8.00pm A Greenfields poem written by Master Simbo Rumblebelly.
- 8.10pm the Greenbrambles will play sundry songs and dances for your entertainment.
- 9.10pm Open Stage After-party with more music at the Plough and Stars!
The times mentioned after 8pm are approximate, all depending on how epic the poem will turn out to be.
Hobbit bands/artists who would like to perform on the Open Stage, please contact Master Peppy Bristlebrush beforehand by mail, in order for him to make a schedule.
