Living in the Shire is usually grand good fun, but there are days when even hobbits are grumpy and complaining. The cure is luckily a simple one, bringing sunshine and joy and laughter in seconds!
First performed at the Bird and Baby inn yesterday (hence the picture), and best sung to Gordon Lightfoot’s Unsettled Ways, this is another attempt at writing song lyrics in way too little time. This one took 35 minutes. I quite needed biscuits and tea afterwards.
Unsettled Ways – Gordon LightfootSome say
Some say that it rains all the time
The weather is bad in this land of mine
They all complain, that it sure rains all the time
Some say that the music’s too loud
That playing the lute, won’t make ma say she’s proud
They all complain, the music is too loud
Sometimes I feel lonely, when I hear of bad things only
But I always feel much better
With biscuits and a mug of sweet hot tea
Some say that the things that I do
Are worse than the acts, of pesky old shrews
They all complain, of the silly things I do
Sometimes I feel lonely, when I hear of bad things only
But I always feel much better
With biscuits and a mug of sweet hot tea
Some say that it rains all the time
That nothing is good in this land of mine
I say to them, have a biscuit and be fine
I say to them, have a biscuit and be fine
